"Regeneration" is a project about the transformation of discarded fabrics. More than half of the fabrics in the clothing industry are plastic fabrics, such as polyester and polyamide. In the process of fabric production a large amount of waste material is naturally generated, and they are basically landfilled and incinerated in the end, which causing huge pressure on the environment. How to transform them from useless to useful? Since plastic fabrics can be used for laser cutting, complex cutting patterns and interspersed structures are achievable. The project explores the possibility of faulty or defective fabrics based on a collaboration with home textile company Ibena.
