POP-UP EXHIBITION
Opening: July 16 at 4:00 p.m.
Walks: July 16 at 5 p.m. and July 17 at 12 p.m.
The exhibition "3x3 - Ecological Building since the 1970s" takes a look at three important players in the early phase of the Gesamthochschule Kassel. The focus is on progressive approaches to ecological and social building, which are of particular relevance against the backdrop of the current climate crisis and social tensions. These include works by
Gernot Minke: Building with clay, building with living plants, low-cost building
Thomas Herzog: Pneumatic constructions, solar building, energy-efficient building and
Lucius Burckhardt: planning criticism, continuing building in the existing fabric, landscape theory.
A central component of the exhibition is the location of the projects in the urban space of Kassel, which can be experienced in the context of two walks.
The exhibition is the result of student work from the seminar of the same name under the direction of Dr. phil. Alexander Stumm at the Department of Architectural Theory and Design at the University of Kassel. The exhibition architecture and conception was developed with students of Prof. Jesko Fezer, Studio Experimentelles Design of the HFBK Hamburg.
