Franziska Weygandt
Steinzeitmenschen forschen

14. – 19.03.23
Opening: 13.03.23, 17:00

The world feels very much like a dystopia. Climate catastrophe, war, Nazis, pandemic, constant overstimulation, trauma and much more make us dream of a better time. The stone age. When we still lived in small groups from and with nature, worked only four hours a day and didn't have to worry about anything that exceeded our biology. A paradisiacal utopia that is probably fictitious. Nevertheless, it is the dream that defies trauma.

The works in the 'Squatting like Stone Age People' series deal with bodily experience and feeling. Trauma is stored in the body. Healing hurts and is beautiful. You can take care of yourself. Friends can be family. Returning to the fundamentally human promises rootedness, promises that the mind will not get lost in personal and global trauma.
